Abstract

The sample of 134 persons is presented in which overal 135 professional diseases of upper extremities caused by vibrations were reported by the Clinic of Occupational Diseases of the Faculty Hospital in Hradec Králové in 1996-2006. The most frequently affected professions are: griders, foundry workers, forrest workers and locksmiths.

Maximum of occupational diseases were reported in relation to the exposure until 5 (resp. 10) years and then over 25 (resp. 30) years. Adequate occupational health care based on a recommended content of health examinations enables only the objective assessment of affections of hands vessels.

The standard objective method for assessing the most frequent affections of peripheral nerves is not available (electromyography).
