Randomized trial in ST-elevation myocardial infarction showed improved early 30 days prognosis after primary percutaneous coronary intervention (p-PCI) compared with immediate thrombolysis (TL). It is less known whether the early benefit is sustained during the long-term follow-up.
Five years' follow-up of the patients from the PRAGUE-2 Trial showed sustained benefit of the p-PCI strategy (over TL) within next five years.
