Abstrakt
Alternative methods based on cultivation of cells and tissue in vitro can replace experiments on animals that are traditionally used in toxicology for the assessment of cytotoxicity of chemicals towards mankind and the environment. For proper understanding and interpretation of in vitro experiments it is essential to know more about the mechanisms of toxic effects, mainly about the metabolism of drugs and chemicals.
