Web-based system for world-wide education in nutrition of medical doctors: joined action of the European Union, University network and ESPEN

Abstrakt

Rapid development of nutritional science provides important knowledge that is inadequately implemented into medical practice. Modern knowledge in nutrition is important for clinicians in a variety of speciality areas.

Nutrition-related medical problems could not be recognized when physicians do not use nutritional assessment as part of physical diagnosis and initiate relevant nutritional cares. Therefore insufficient knowledge on nutrition is likely to be linked to greater morbidity, mortality and cost.
