Pathological liver tests at a general practitioner's surgery

Publication at First Faculty of Medicine |
2013

Abstract

Liver tests is a term used for a complex of various laboratory parameters which reflect in various ways the condition of the liver tissue and the liver functions as a whole. Examining these parameters is a part of the standard basic biochemical examination.

The task faced by the primary care physicians is to perform basic differential diagnostics, aimed at distinguishing abnormalities pointing to serious liver damage from insignificant or meaningless elevations.
