Abstract

Pain is one of the most serious manifestations of cancer. It fundamentally affects the quality of life of cancer patients.

It is the duty of the doctor who cares for the oncological patient to pay attention to the pain and effectively soothe it. At the VČR, we currently have at our disposal means for sufficient pain relief for all oncological patients.

Goals of oncological pain treatment: 1. ensuring pain-free sleep (=achievable goal for all patients) 2. relief from pain at rest (=achievable goal for the vast majority of patients) 3. relief from pain when moving (=achievable goal for most patients).
