Chemistry, physical properties and biocompatibility of hydrogels for immunoprotection of mammalian cells

Abstract

Encapsulation is a method providing cells protection against the immune system of the host following their implantation while the semipermeable polymer membrane allow diffusion nutrients to encapsulated cells. Article gives the overview about the materials used for encapsulation and their physical and chemical properties and also includes authors´results.
