Power/CT ports and PICCs for high pressure contrast media application

Abstract

Multidetector CT scanners (MDCT) significantly reduced examination time and improved the quality of examination. CT angiography and perfusion studies require the administration of contrast media with higher rate (4-5 ml / sec ).

Venous access that allows administration of the contrast material with high pressure are called power / CT portsystems or power/CT PICCs.
