Functional interactions between the alpha(1b)-adrenoceptor and Galpha(11) are compromised by de-palmitoylation of the G protein but not of the receptor.

Abstract

Functional analysis of selected mutants of the alpha(1b)-AR and Galpha(11) protein co-expressed in HEK-293 cells revealed that palmitoylation of the receptor does not regulate cognate G protein activation but palmitoylation of Galpha(11) is important.
