Regressive changes in pituitary adenomas: the basis for evaluation of conservative therapy

Abstract

Pre-treatment of acromegalic adenomas with somatostatin analogues does not lead to a higher incidence of apoptosis but to regressive changes, loss of parenchyma and compensatory fibrosis.
