Influence of a Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt on Insulin Resistance

Abstract

Patients with liver cirrhosis suffer from hyperinsulinaemia and a certain degree of insulin resistance. TIPS as a therapeutic method in complications of portal hypertension had to rapid haemodynamic changes in the liver.

TIPS does not influence insulin resistance.
