The phylogenetic position of enteromonads: a challenge for the present models of diplomonad evolution

Abstract

Publication demonastrates that unizoic genus Trimistus branches within the clade of diplozoic diplomonad genera. This suggests that the classical model of diplomonad origin via a single duplication event is wrong.
