Iron chelators and their use in the prevention of various free-radical-mediated tissue damages

Abstrakt

The usefulness of anthracycline antibiotic is limited by their cardiotoxicity which is caused - at least partly - by formation of free oxygen radicals. Iron chelators are studied and used as potential cardioprotective drugs.
