Abstract

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a tumor arising in the field of chronic liver diseases. It is a tumor with well-defined vulnerable populations.

Screening methods are readily available, relatively inexpensive, well tolerated by patients. Despite a clearly defined population suitable for surveillance and the availability of screening methods is the vast majority of HCC are diagnosed in advanced stages.
