The early Poetry of the Slovene poet Tomaž Šalamun in the Light of European Neo-avantgarde

Abstract

In the paper we research the early poetry of Tomaž Šalamun. We analyse two of his books: Poker (Ugly dukling, 1966) and Romanje za Maruško (In searching of Maruška, 1971), which were important breakthrough in the historical development of the Slovene poetry.

In these texts the poet finished with classical lyrical confession and began to experiment with the language.
