Determination of the orientation of magnetic minerals from the anisotropy of magnetic susceptibility

Abstract

For magnetically uniaxial grains, an exact relationship exists between the AMS and the orientation tensor. We investigate the extent to which this relationship can be used when magnetic grains are generally triaxial.
