Abstract

Among the many complications afflicting patients with renal failure are pathological changes to bone tissues and calcification of blood vessels. It is now showing that the cardiovascular calcifications are in fact a result of the same pathogenetic mechanism as the bone tisue chang.

The article provides a basic ovrview of the issue of vascular calcifications in paients with advanced stages of kidney diseases and patints in dialisis programmes. Basic pathogenes is listed, along with examination procedures and recommended clinical approach.
