Abstract
Urticarias represent and heterogenous group of conditions with eruptions of hives on the skin. Cold urticaria is classified into physical urticarias, that are the cause of about 35% of chronic urticarias.
Nowadays the first line treatment are the anitihstamines of second generation with proved efficacy in aquired cold urticaria. Bilastine is a new non sedating drug of this group with both anitihistamine and antiinflammatory and immunomodulatory effects.
In supraclinic dosing 80 mg/d it enlarges not only the limited therapeutic possibilities of this conditions, but it also has the potential to be u drug of choice fot the whole group of physical and maybe even the idiopathic urticarias
