Abstract

The outbreak of first Balkan War in October 1912 led to the last important international crisis before the First World War. This conflict threatened seriously the interests of Austria-Hungary on the peninsula.

Author in his study analyses the circumstances and causes which influenced the position of the Habsburg monarchy, especially attitudes of Germany, Great Britain and Russia. Great attention is dedicated to the attitude of German ally, which led to the diplomatic failure of Austria-Hungary and deterioration his international position.
