How is care made

Abstract

There is a lot more to dining than food. Preserving autonomy and serving the individual's preferences are other very important parts of the meal, which can enhance the quality of life of persons with dementia in long term care.

To do that, caregivers need to know who each person really is, what she would like to experience, and how capable she is to successfully carry out her preferred role in the dining room. Interprofessional cooperation of caregivers and other people working in long term care facilities is a key to a good care.
