Abstract
Literature of modern period resuscitates not only old myths, but creates also its own myths. Among the myths of "individual destine" takes central position Faust myth.
Author demonstrates its essence in three novels of "hidden myth": Thomas Mann's Doctor Faustus, Luzhin's Defense by Vladimir Nabokov and Night Work by Jachym Topol.
