Abstract
This paper is a reflection on the implications which the phenomenon of functional differentiation has for the possibility of dialogue between different scientific disciplines – as examined and analyzed in current systemic theory. Functionally differentiated society is fragmented and this fragmentation is the source of certain social risks.
Therefore, some theorists dwell on the question of whether it is possible to overcome the consequences of functional differentiation by the finding ways to connect fragmented areas.
