Abstract
The paper enlightens origin and main issues of the treatise „Courage to be the Church“ (1978) by Josef Zvěřina (1913–1990). It shows that the treatise was a reaction on ecclesiological propositions formulated by Zdeněk Bonaventura Bouše (1918–2002).
It points at actuality of Zvěřina’s theological reflection.
