Reflexive agency and cultural change

Publication |
2013

Abstract

The study examines the reflexive nature of action in the context of the discussions about reflexivity in contemporary social theory. The author discusses the analytical-dualist conception of action in the work of Margaret Archer and proposes to expand it as to include a certain version of the element of reflexivity.

The new model is applied to the cultural change associated with system transformation after the collapse of the Communist regime.
