Chemoradiotherapy of the locally advanced rectal cancer

Abstract

Randomized trials have established neoadjuvant chemoradiation follwed by total mesorectal excision as the current standard of treatment of care for patients with locally advanced rectal cancer. The aim of this paper is to provide a review of the current knowledge on the chemoradiation of locally advanced rectal cancer.
