Abstract

This Collestive monograph is a result of a longstanding cooperation between the Catholic Theological Faculty of the Charles University in Prague and the Greek Catholic Theological Faculty of the University of PrešovThe first part of the collective monograph deals with principal events in the history of Greek Catholic Church from the beginning of Czechoslovakia through the situation in the Czech Republic until the creation of the Apostolic Exarchate. The second part of the monograph reflects the crucial theme of the identity of the Greek Catholic Church.

The third part of the monograph thus concentrates on the important phenomena of Czech lands functioning as a bridge between the Western and Eastern Christianity, through the lives of two personalities of the Czech Catholic Church: Antonín Salajka and Tomáš Špidlík.
