Abstract
The article presents interpretation of chosen scenes and characters in films of Andrej Tarkovskij from perspective of Tomáš Špidlík. Špidlík was able to detect the hidden spiritual depth and trough interpretation of Tarkovsky's films asked philosophical and theological questions related to man as a person living in the tension between earliness and eternity.
