Current addictological issues from the perspective of a lawyer

Abstract

The article deals with a basic of legal regulation related to the relatively new independent health profession addictologist, its potential fulfilment in a health care system, the scope of its activities and funding of care in addiction services. Furthermore, the article highlights particularities of patients in addiction health services; because they are more likely than patients of other medical and nonmedical health disciplines get into conflict with a legal system in connection with their illness, although it is not necessarily a causal relationship.

This fact indirectly affects the health professionals who are those clients encounter in their work, and can also affect the input, process and preservation of positive results of provided health care.
