Ethical Values as Determinants of Decision Making in Market Economy

Abstract

The article selectively analyses values as constituents of decision making. Decision making has pivotal role in general guiding cycle of behaviour and action.

Decision making is investigated in the framework of market economy. Key values of market system economy are: basic values of democracy: liberty and justice, values of market economy: responsibility and trust, and values related to economic development and growth: progress, prosperity and rationality.

The analysis shows some flaws in present value system, especially in the field of ethical values and shows potential contributions of economy respecting ethical dimension of decision making in the field of market economy.
