Abstract
This review deals with the prevention of pneumocystis pneumonia especially in haematological patients. Pharmacological prevention is thoroughly discussed, especially prophylaxis using trimetroprim/sulfametoxazole is described in detail.
Alternative regimens are discussed as well.
