In his study, the author discusses the so fare unexplored history of the Czech theology from the point of view of its reaction to the contributions of natural sciences. First it is stated that in the concerned period there does not exist problems with the Laplacean theory.
As far as the evolution of biological species, the openness of theology is evident since the 70ths of XIX century. Certain tension is visible in the field of evolutional conception of origin of humans.
However, some openness to the Mivart´s thesis is to be seen since the 20ths of XX century (Bedřich Augustin). The last period since the 60ths of XX century is marked by critical reception of the ideas of P.
T. de Chardin.
