Abstract
School managers constitute a specific group of work organizations managers. The study deals with the definitions of typical requirements applying to their activities and on their competencies.
It also compares demands of strategic management between enterprises and schools. From those starting points it specifies the requirements for continuing education of school managers as a target group of formal and non-formal education of managers within the system of lifelong learning.
