Teaching of games in secondary schools in the Czech Republic after establishment of School Educational Programmes

Abstract

Objectives: The aim of this paper is to analyze the current situation of teaching content of games in teaching physical education in secondary schools.after establishment of School Educational Programmes. Research Method: The basic method was questionnaire survey.

The research was conducted using a non standardized questionnaire for teachers of physical education in secondary schools. Results: The results of our survey suggest a certain conservatism in access to its educational programs for inclusion of sports games.

This is also indicated by teachers' opinions on educational programs. Pessimistic views of teachers are consistent with the results of studies that we conducted on primary schools, which were published in dissertations (Šrámek, 2007; Kučera, 2008; Máca, 2009).

It shows out that for the teaching of games in secondary schools are appropriate traditional games in the Czech Republic as football, basketball, volleyball and handball and increasingly promotes the teaching floorball. Unusual sports games are used sporadically
