Abstract

Paper focuses on name writing development of preschool age children. It presents research which followed 101 children aged three to six years.

Children wrote and read (analyzed) their name. Smaller goups were creating and writing words while using only letters contained in their name, they wrote the words like dog, elephant, house and read the words written backwards, looking for their internal structure.

Products of children and their procedures for writing and reading were processed using open coding Results - preconceptions of name writing and reading are interpreted developmentally. Research design was inspired by psychogenetically theory of Emilia Ferreiro.
