Stalinism and the Soviet Union 1927-1939. Historiography, evolution of research, the problem of interpretation of this phenomenon and its interpretation patterns

Abstract

Critical analysis was focused on the new literature about Stalinism, development of its interpretations and their changes. One could observe certain limits brought in by opening of Russian archives after the collapse of the USSR in 1991.

The main result of study is that the real development of political mechanism and social dynamics was much more complicated and manifold than it was considered before.
