Abstract

An outline of the development and culture of abroad traveling from Czech lands between 1815-1840. A short survey of travellers‘ social profile, a typology of travels and of most important destinations.

The author compares the situation with preceding baroque travels. Especially he focuses on changing of travels to Italy and visits in Switzerland as an example of a country, which had been freshly discovered for modern tourism.
