The article is mapping major doctrinal changes in competition law and policy of the EU since the adoption of the Lisbon Treaty. Based on the analysis of the decisions of the EU institutions, of the documents of the European Commission Directorate General for Competition and of declarations of its representatives, the study illustrates the shift in focus of the EU antitrust away from the modernization emphasis on efficiency and consumer welfare towards a less clear set of objectives, including, among others, economic growth and jobs as competition policy of the EU is nowadays conceived as part of a broader, modern industrial policy.
