Abstract

Alopecia has been discribed in association with a number of different diseases. Genetic or environmental factors are of great importance in atiology.

Clinical course is divided in acute or chronic. Acquired cicatrical alopecia is the generic term applied to a permanent area of hair loss that are associated with destruction of hair follicles.

The causes of cicatricial alopecia are classified into groups – primary or secondary cicatricial alopecia.
