This paper presents an analysis of sports activities in adolescent (12 – 15 years old) pupils in the Czech Republic and some EU countries. The aim of the study is to analyse, verify and identify the status quo of children’s interests in locomotive activities at basic school, and their attitude towards these activities including the determinants that shape that attitude.
The study is done with the help of kinatropological research. The method we chose is based on a survey questionnaire along with the analysis and synthesis of the resulting data.
We expected that more than 66% of pupils regularly participate in some sports activity. The evaluation of the results proved our hypothesis was true in that 93% of children from the chosen EU countries do indeed regularly participate in some sport.
