Abstract
The new phenotype of asthma associated with obesity is now established. Visceral adipose tissue is producing numerous cytokines with proinflammatory activity.
The mechanics of ventilation is abnormal in obese asthmatics. The therapeutic response to corticosteroids is modified in obese asthmatic.
