Abstract
Menthality is a relative new part in the developement of the Czech social history. It is also the main reason that this paper is dealing with the questions of : 1/ menthality as a part of of historical research, 2/ main notions and ways of the research on this fiedl, 3/ topic: Czech national menthality through the eyes of the Czech nation. elite in the 19 th Cen. 4/ Cz. nat. menth. in the contrast to the menthality of the foreigners, above all the English and American people.
