Abstract

Comparative analysis of works composed by two great contemporaries reveal the fact that Dvořák's 6th Symphony represented an original 'reply' to the 2nd Symphony by Brahms. The common backround to which both works are related is Symphony No. 3 'Eroica' by L. van Beethoven.
