Abstract
The figure of Waldstein, the house-owner of Waldstein palace in Prague, is apparently one of the best known individualities in the European history of the 17th century. In the introductory chapter in the new book about the palace the author specifies the most importatnt milestones in the career of Waldstein and mentions where remain open questions.
