Publication at Faculty of Arts |
2000

Abstract

The article discusses the development of ideas and political engagement of J. L.

Hromádka in the years following WWII. It pictures Hromádka as a Protestant theologian, a leading character of Evangelic Kirk in ČSR and a politically committed intellectual.

The article demonstrates that Hromádka accepted and partly also welcomed deep post-war changes of Czechoslovakia and the whole world. The article further pictures Hromádka's endeavour to adapt Czech Protestantism to this development.
