The interaction between the anticancer drug ellipticine and cytochromes P450 dictates its pharmacological efficiencies

Abstract

Five metabolites containining an oxygene atom in their molecules are generated from ellipticine by CYPs. Ellipticine inhibits microsomal CYP-dependent activities and interacts with CYPs exhibiting a reverse type binding spectrum.
