ICT Competencies and Their Development in Primary and Lower-Secondary Schools

Abstract

The publication explores curriculum, process and organisation aspects of informatics, or information technology education in primary and lower secondary schools and it represents the outcome of the “Children’s ICT Competencies and Their Development in Primary and Lower-Secondary Schools” research project. It analyses the working hypothesis of the research and reports on the research into identifying the current state, structure and orientation of ICT competencies development in primary and lower-secondary schools in the Czech Republic.

It presents results and findings of the research in its relevant areas including the characteristics of ICT activities, content of ICT activities, current state and understanding of pupils’ ICT competencies development, structure of teachers’ ICT competencies, and implementation of ICT competencies development into learning activities and school environment.
