Parkinson's and Huntington's disease is a neurodegenerative and chronic -progressive disease characterized by movement disorders and changes in mental functions. There are many drugs that can positively affect some of their symptoms , but unfortunately it is completely healed.
In all patients with the disease progresses, there is a more or less serious disturbances in food, such as dry mouth , anorexia, dysphagia , constipation and others. Timely and proper nutritional intervention can significantly improve the treatment effect and reduce the risk of complications , shorten hospital , extend life expectancy and improve quality.
The aim of this publication is to provide practical information about how to diagnose and treat disorders of nutrition for malnourished conditions in general , as well as information regarding the nutritional care of patients with Parkinson's and Huntington's diseases. Also briefly describes the clinical picture of the disease and the basic principles of treatment.
