Abstract

Osteoporosis belongs to the most frequent disease of the modern population. In the scope of secondary osteoporosis main part is represented by drug-induced osteoporosis.

Chronic treatment by “classic” antiepileptic drugs is well known, including the reasons: enzyme induction, increased expression of mRNA CYP450, low saturation with vitamin D and calcium. New antiepileptic drugs are sometimes also blamed; causative relation is not clear, up to now.
