Abstract

The article analyses the acting of the main character of the Resnais´ movie in those moments when he from the members of the leadership of his own party as well as from representatives of the young revolutionaries learns that his assessment of the political situation is subjective. These are the moments when Diego Mora realizes how the dialectics of revolution has become a kind of rhetoric voluntarism.

He remains to be a soldier fighting against the Francoist dictatorship, but this war is for him not a prelude to the revolution any more. The meaning of the message, with which this movie is coming, we can understand thanks to the Foucault’s idea that the contemporary power struggles are going on without a foundation of the unifying vision of the Revolutionary Liberation.
