Educational experts but also entire educational institutions have been increasingly focused on the issue of gifted and talented children. The institutions such as universities, the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic and regional research institutes see the gifted children as potential members of their research teams in the future.
What is the situation regarding search and diagnosis of these pupils in school practice? The results from interviews with teachers declare that teachers' awareness of the diagnosis and specificity of work with talented students is not satisfactory. A research survey carried out at Czech secondary schools contributed to monitoring of this issue in the school practice.
